Joanna’s Pink and Watercolor Elephant Nursery

Oh, friends! I'm so excited to finally be able to share Joanna's little nursery with you! We had so much fun putting it together! It’s quickly become our new favorite room in the house! Sometimes we even just go in there and sit, thinking and talking about what our little girl will be like.

Before we found out whether we were having a boy or a girl, we knew that we wanted to decorate in an elephant theme. Jesse was a huge elephant fan as a kid (and has many of his elephants from when he was little) and we thought it would be sweet to build a nursery off of his childhood love. As soon as we found out we were having a little girl, I knew I also wanted to include watercolors - one of my loves (always wanted to learn how to watercolor paint!). When I found these sweet elephant watercolors on Etsy, we knew we had picked the perfect theme.

In the months leading up to Joanna’s arrival, we used our date nights to go shopping for nursery decor, and we gotta say, hunting for the perfect pieces together was so much more fun than a typical date night! We were always on the hunt for great deals on decor and are both Hobby Lobby lovers, so most of what you see came from there or our new favorite place - At Home!

Before her baby showers we only had a couple of things we had bought for her nursery. But as we were making our registry, were awed by how quickly baby items added up! We really realized how blessed we are when gifts started rolling in for our sweet baby girl until her nursery and our home was filled with baby things. The sweet furniture pieces came from her grandparents and great-grandparents. All the other adorable books, toys, stuffed animals, blankets, and more than are even featured in these photos (some are in other rooms in our home too) came from our wonderful, loving family and friends.

I am by no means a home blogger, but I have had many people asking to see her nursery so I thought I would take a few minutes to write a little post about it. Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as we enjoyed putting it together!
